Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are delivery costs included in the prices displayed on the Bloomsbury Formal Hire website?

No, the outfits incur an extra delivery charge if they are not collected from our Great Russell street store.

For STANDARD delivery and pick up service (order by 12 pm, at least 4 working days ahead of your function) we charge £25.00

EXPRESS delivery (order by 11 am for next day delivery) £10.00 extra (£10+25=£35.00 total).

This service is available Monday through Thursday (there are no deliveries Saturdays and Sundays).

Outfits picked up from our central London shop incur no charge.

2. Can I cancel or amend the order if necessary?

We require 6 days notice prior to the delivery date for cancellation for a full refund.

You should contact hire@bloomsburyformalhire.co.uk as soon as possible in both events.Bloomsbury Formal Hire reserve the right to charge in full for cancelled orders made with less than 6 days until the delivery date. Amendments to your order if made less than 6 days in advance of the delivery date will incur a £5 surcharge per item of clothing.

3. Can I pick up the outfit from the Central London location, but then have them returned by the courier service from wherever I am?

We are afraid that this is not possible, as the courier services that we use are all inclusive, and cannot be only 'outward' or only 'inward'. We realise that there is a demand for such a service, but we are afraid that at present we can only regard an order as a full 'delivery order' or a full 'collection order'.

You are free to arrange your own courier delivery back to ourselves but please be aware that the outfit is your responsibility whilst in the custody of your courier and the punctuality of it's return to ourselves by these means is also your responsibility. Any claim for late return or loss must be conducted between yourselves and your courier company.

4. Can we view or try on the garments??

You are always most welcome to visit our Central London to be professionally measured by one of our team and see examples of the offered range.

5. Do I have to pay a deposit when I hire my outfit?

A deposit of 50% (or more if you wish) will be taken when you order at the Central London location. The full order value is taken when ordering Online.

6. How can I be sure that the garments will fit me?

Please consult our measuring guide for information on how to get successful measurements, before submitting your order. This is a reliable way of obtaining accurate measurements but please supply any other relevant information as you proceed through our ordering pages (ie large thighs, square shoulders, big biceps).

7. How can I pay for my order?

Payment can be made by either Credit or Debit Cards through our secure online payment PSP - 'SAGE PAY'.

8. How long after the function do I need to return the outfit?

You will need to return the outfits on the Monday following the function date.

9. If I come to the Central London location to be measured, when will my outfit be ready for collection?

A pick up date will be arranged with yourself at the time of hiring, at the soonest 48 hrs from order, normally approx two days before your event.

10. Is it possible to take out insurance against damage and loss of the garments?

At Bloomsbury Formal Hire all outfits costs include ADW Accidental Damage Waiver insurance (value £7) which will cover for all 'non-malicious damage' (non intentional) to the hire garments. Damaged garments MUST still be returned to us. We do NOT offer insurance to cover for LOSS of garments. Any non-returned garments will be charged at replacement value.

11. What time during the day will my garments be delivered?

STANDARD delivery (£25) is between 9am and 5.30pm on the specified day. There is an upgraded 'STANDARD morning' service (£30) for delivery before 12 pm.

EXPRESS delivery (£30) is between 9 am and 5.30 on the specified day. There is an upgraded EXPRESS before 10' service (£35) for people requiring deliveries next day before 10am.

12. What will Bloomsbury Formal Hire do with your private details/information?

Any information that you provide to Bloomsbury Formal Hire will be kept strictly confidential and will never be shared with any 'third party'. Your privacy is extremely important to us. If you have 'opted in', we will occasionally send you information on promotions and offers from Bloomsbury Formal Hire.

13. When is the best time to order my outfit or outfits?

It is advisable to order at lest two weeks prior to your function and no more that 2 month earlier(to avoid size fluctuation)
